This week on T.I. And Tiny: The Family Hustle we learn about the value of a dollar, and the value of mixing business with friendship (and colon Colon Cleansing | T.I. And Tiny: The Family Hustle Episode 4 The Value Of A Dollarcleanses).

First up, Tiny and her her good friend Shakineh, a hairdresser, are considering going into business together. Tiny already owns a nail salon, but like every great entrepreneur, she wants to expand her business, and though she has reservations about mixing business with pleasure, she and Shakineh start discussing their plans.

The first issue they need to overcome is just what kind of salon this will be. Will it be a nail, hair, bleaching, waxing and tattoo parlor, like Tiny envisions it to be? Or will it be a nail, hair, bleaching, waxing, and colon-cleansing parlor, like Shakineh imagines?

“I love her ideas and her enthusiasm, but I’m backing this venture. I am . Tiny,” says Tiny. “My vision is not to have, you know, a s- bath in my salon.”

Later, when the two go to look at a new salon space, a fight erupts not just over oily butt injections but over money, priorities, renovations, the works. The realtor showing them the space is like “What have I done to deserve being in the middle of this?”

After they view the space, it souuuunds like the agree to not become business partners after all, to save the friendship. But who knows? And with that, they depart the space, with the realtor sweetly/ominously telling them “Y’all be careful!”

Over in Tip ‘s neck of the woods, he’s babysitting his sons and teaching them lessons about money.

“I felt it was a good time to holler at the boys about the value of a dollar,” he says as he gives is sons a wad of $17,000 in cash to play with, make pretend phone calls on,

and wipe their melon juice hands all over.

“Did you know there are certain people who don’t make this much money in a year?” he asks the kids, and Domani asks what we all want to know, “How long did it take you ?” “It took me about two hours but that’s not the point,” T.I. tells him, but then emphasizes that it took him years to get to a point where he could command over $8k an hour. T.I. is big on not raising a group of professional moochers and tells us “I’m not gonna have some kids growing up and being oblivious to the value of a dollar.” Fortunately, all of his kids were born with a talent. “One thing about all the kids is each and every last one of them has got a hustle. Something they do well and they know they do well, so they do it.”

Domani, one of their middle sons, has talents in art, magic, football, and music, but Tip is curious where his real hustle lies. Right now, he’d like to focus on rapping.

When Domani tells him he’s working on a new song and wants his dad to collaborate, Tip responds “What makes you think you can afford me?” to which Domani replies “Because you’re my pops!”

T.I. is amused by that but he’s also like, let’s see what kind of chops you have, kid.

Later, they have a more serious discussion and T.I. asks him “What is it you want to do with music?” and Domani answers as honestly as he can “I want to get paid for it….You rap about stuff that’s happened to you. Nothing really happens to me. Because I’m ten.” In case I haven’t mentioned it before, I’m stealing all of these children at some point, they are literally the BEST kids in the world.

Once again, Tip offers some excellent career and life advice, saying “If he don’t go hard, giving it 110%, he’s not going to make it, it doesn’t matter whose son he is.”

“I wanna rap about magic, girls, and money, and outfits,” Domani whose rap name is D Money, says when he goes into the home studio to start producing his own track. Tip makes him stay up all night writing a song to perform on stage, because he’s giving him the opportunity to open for his sister, Nique Nique, and her group the OMG Girlz, on the Scream Tour. And because everything is better when King is involved, he plans to be on stage too as a dancer and hype man.

Tip thinks D Money’s song is pretty good, but he works hard to pound home the importance of rehearsing and working the crowd, so he gives his son a lesson in moving on stage until he thinks he’s ready for the Scream Tour.

“I don’t even remember my first performance, I don’t ever remember being nervous, so I can’t really relate to him being nervous. I’ve been nervous going to court. If he was going to court and was nervous, I’d was like ‘I know how you feel,’” Tip says before the show.

Despite a brief technical glitch with the music, Domani took the stage like a pro with his entire family dancing behind him and nailed the performance. “He handled himself like a star,” his proud papa beamed. Four episodes in, and we have more than enough proof that this “family hustle” is not just a clever name. Everyone in this family’s got some.
